Google has shared a teaser for the new Google Pixel 11 series. In the video shared by the company, we can see not only the design of the new smartphone, but also the Pixel Glow feature.

Google has shared the first official teaser for the Pixel 11 series. Following last week’s announcement of the‘Made by Google’ event, the company has now confirmed the name of the new devices and offered a first glimpse of their design.

A special page in the Google Store features a device believed to be the Pixel 11 Pro, finished in a gold colour. The rest of the page is also designed entirely in the same colour scheme. At the top is the text: “The next generation. Google Pixel 11. 12 August.” With this, Google makes it clear that the new Pixel 11 series will be officially announced on 12 August.

The invitation to the event also states that during the presentation you’ll get to see more of both Gemini Intelligence and the new generation of Pixel devices. This suggests that artificial intelligence will once again play a key role during the launch.

The teaser also offers a first glimpse of a new feature which, according to earlier rumours, will be called Pixel Glow. Instead of a separate light strip, Google appears to be using a circular light element in place of the camera flash, to the right of the camera bar. This is in line with earlier rumours that had already pointed to this solution.

Based on the teaser, Pixel Glow appears to be capable of displaying different colours. The lighting effect is reminiscent of the familiar spinning, colourful indicator that macOS displays when a programme is temporarily unresponsive, and of the colours of Gemini, as seen, for example, on the Google Home Speaker. Google has not yet explained exactly what Pixel Glow is used for, so its functionality remains unclear for the time being.

Further details about the Pixel 11 series and its new features are expected to be announced during the Made by Google event on 12 August. Until then, Google appears to be gradually revealing more and more information about its new smartphones. Earlier this week, Amazon published a comprehensive overview featuring photos of the new smartphones.
