Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Ultra) specifications leaked
Samsung appears to be ready to launch its new foldable smartphones. Shortly before the expected unveiling, virtually all the technical specifications for both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra have been leaked, following our report on Wednesday about the numerous photos of the devices. Each of the two models will occupy its own niche within the range, with the Fold 8 focusing primarily on a lighter design and the Ultra placing greater emphasis on the display and cameras.
The biggest change to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is its revamped design. The device will feature a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main screen with a resolution of 2448 x 1848 pixels and a 5.5-inch outer screen. Both screens support a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Samsung is also said to be using a new titanium component beneath the foldable screen, which should make the familiar crease less visible and make the screen more robust.

In terms of cameras, Samsung has opted for a simpler setup on the Fold 8. The phone features a 50-megapixel main camera and a 50 MP wide-angle lens, whilst the telephoto lens has been removed. Both the inner and outer screens will feature a 10-megapixel selfie camera.
Under the bonnet, the Fold 8 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip, combined with 12GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage. Only the 1TB storage model comes with 16GB of RAM. The device also features Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, 5G and NFC.
The battery has a capacity of 4800 mAh and supports 45W fast charging and wireless charging. When unfolded, the Fold 8 is just 4.5 mm thick and, at 201 grams, is one of the lighter foldable smartphones. The expected colours are Graphite, Cream, Lavender and the online-exclusive colour Pistachio.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
If you want more, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is the one for you. This model retains an 8.0-inch foldable AMOLED screen, but features a significantly higher resolution of 2504 x 2256 pixels. Here too, both screens feature a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and the new titanium substrate.
The Ultra really stands out thanks to its cameras. On the back, you’ll find a 200-megapixel main camera, a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and an updated 50-megapixel wide-angle lens, which replaces the previous 12-megapixel sensor. The selfie cameras remain at 10 megapixels.

The battery capacity has also increased to 5000 mAh, with support for 45W fast charging and wireless charging. Despite the larger battery, the device remains slim at 4.1 mm when unfolded and weighs 218 grams. Like the Fold 8, the Ultra also runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, with the 1TB version also featuring 16GB of RAM.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to be available in Graphite, Cream, Violet Shadow and the exclusive online colour Green Shadow.
According to the leaked information, prices start at €1,999 for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and €2,199 for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. If the rumours are correct, both devices will be officially announced shortly at Samsung’s next Unpacked event on 22 July.
