July update for the Galaxy A56, A54, A35 and Fairphone 6

Good news for a number of Android users. Samsung and Fairphone have released a new update for their devices, bringing them up to a new security level.

We’ve heard from several readers that Samsung and Fairphone have released a new update for their devices. First up is the Fairphone 6. Jesse reports that the July security update is now available for the device. The changelog also states that an issue causing stuttering in slow-motion videos has been resolved, as well as a problem where the touchscreen would sometimes fail to respond. Another important fix concerns the camera. Photos were sometimes not saved, and this issue has now been resolved. The QREL.16.95.0 update also resolves a number of other issues. The update is approximately 54MB in size.

Samsung has also rolled out a series of updates before the end of the month. The new July security update is being rolled out for three models. According to Arjaan, Armin, Han, Ben and Marcel, the Samsung Galaxy A35, Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A56 are receiving the July update. Samsung’s update combines the company’s own patches with those from Google.

The updates are being rolled out as of now. You’ll receive a notification when you can install this update on your device. Haven’t received a notification yet? Then you can manually check for updates via the settings.
