Gemini Notebook
Gemini Notebook remains a standalone application designed for research, document processing and information analysis. However, the service will play a greater role within other Google products, Google has announced in a press release. For example, you can already open and manage notebooks from within the Gemini app, with everything automatically synchronised with the standalone version. At a later date, notebooks will also be integrated into Google Search’s AI mode.

As well as the name change, Google is working on a major technical upgrade. Each notebook will be assigned its own secure cloud computer, enabling Gemini Notebook to write and execute code independently from now on. This allows for more comprehensive data analysis, with the AI drawing on the sources you have added yourself. According to Google, this not only delivers more accurate analyses but also offers new ways of presenting results.
The upgrade featuring Gemini 3.5 and Antigravity was rolled out last month for Google AI Ultra users. Google has now confirmed that these features will also become available to Google AI Pro users via the web version in the coming weeks. Business Workspace customers with AI Ultra Access and AI Expanded Access can also make use of them.
Google emphasises that Gemini Notebook has grown significantly since its launch as Project Tailwind at Google I/O 2023. The service is now used by more than 30 million users and over 600,000 organisations. The application is used, amongst other things, for creating interactive documentation, analysing information and converting notes into audio and video summaries.
The service’s visual identity is also evolving. The current logo is being replaced by a design featuring Gemini’s distinctive blue and purple colours. This makes it clear that Gemini Notebook is now a fully integrated part of Google’s broader AI platform.
