Google Pixel 11a specs leaked
Although the Google Pixel 10a has only just established itself as an affordable Pixel smartphone, it seems that preparations for its successor are already well under way. References to the Pixel 11a have surfaced in various Google apps, and at the same time, the first specifications have also been leaked.
According to the information, the Pixel 11a has been codenamed ‘Formosan’ and will be available in four colours: Obsidian (black), Olive (green), Frost (purple) and Fog (silver). Under the bonnet, Google is said to be opting for the new Tensor G6 chip, combined with the Titan M3 security chip, a MediaTek M90 modem and 8GB of RAM. According to the leak, the battery will have a minimum capacity of 4870 mAh. In addition, Google is said to be using a new front-facing camera, although no further details are available at this stage.
The screen also appears to be a step forward. The Pixel 11a is said to feature a 6.3-inch display with a resolution of 2424 x 1080 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of 60 to 120 Hz. Brightness reaches up to 2,250 nits in HDR and a peak brightness of 3,350 nits, which should make the screen easier to read in bright sunlight.

Pixel 10a still fairly new
The timing of this initial information is striking. After all, the Pixel 10a is still a relatively new device and has yet to reach a wider audience. Nevertheless, it is not unusual for Google to start working on future models at an early stage. Internal references within apps often indicate that development is already at an advanced stage, even if it will be some time before a device is officially announced.
Pixel 11 series
As well as the information about the Pixel 11a, there is also news regarding the standard Pixel 11 series. According to the same source, Google is working on an improved version of Face Unlock. This facial recognition feature is said to be faster, perform better in low light and, moreover, become more accurate and secure.
As if that weren’t enough, an initial codename has even been mentioned for the next generation. The rumoured Pixel 12a is said to be known internally as ‘Marmoset’.
Of course, it is still very early in the development of the Pixel 11a. Google itself has not yet confirmed anything, and specifications are always subject to change before the device is officially announced. There are no photos of the new device yet. So we do not yet know whether Google will also equip the new Pixel with Pixel Glow.
