Android 17 QPR1 Beta 7
Google has begun rolling out Android 17 QPR1 Beta 7 for compatible Pixel smartphones. This new beta version does not include any major new features, but focuses primarily on improving stability and resolving issues discovered in previous betas. The update, with build number CP31.260623.005, builds on previous Android 17 QPR1 betas. Whilst earlier versions mainly added new features, the emphasis is now on a smoother day-to-day user experience.

One of the key improvements is a fix for Battery Share. In previous betas, the reverse wireless charging feature did not always work properly. Enabling it via Quick Settings could result in charging not starting at all, or only the charging animation being displayed without any power actually being transferred. According to Google, this feature now works as intended following the update.
The Quick Settings panel has also received several improvements. For example, a visual glitch has been fixed where a gap would appear between the battery percentage and the mobile network icon as soon as Wi-Fi was switched off. In addition, an issue has been resolved whereby adjusting the font size via the Quick Settings panel could cause the system to crash.
Users who regularly connect their Pixel to an external display will also benefit from an improvement. In earlier test versions, the icons on the taskbar were unexpectedly aligned to the left. This led to speculation that Google was testing a new design. However, with Android 17 QPR1 Beta 7, it appears this was a bug. The icons are now neatly centred again, as in previous versions.
The update is available to owners of the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Pixel 10a. To receive it, you must be enrolled in the beta programme.
