Android 17 QPR1 Beta 8
A new beta version of Android 17 has been released. To be precise, it is Android 17 QPR1 Beta 8, which introduces various improvements. These are mainly behind-the-scenes improvements, including fixes for issues with the fingerprint scanner. We’ve listed the changelog detailing these improvements below.
- An issue with the audio framework’s buffer management caused unexpected, loud audio distortion and noise during media playback and interactions with notifications.
- An issue where the Pixel Tablet Speaker Dock would frequently go offline or fail to connect after being plugged in.
- A bug in the NFC service means that affected NFC tags can no longer read data or open URLs.
- An issue where fingerprint authentication does not activate when unlocking the device
The update will be available for the following models: Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Pixel 10a. To receive the update, you must be part of the beta testing programme.
