Xiaomi Redmi 17
Xiaomi is launching the new Redmi 17 series in the Netherlands and Belgium. The Redmi 17 and Redmi 17 5G are primarily aimed at users looking for a large battery and a spacious screen without having to spend a fortune. The devices will be available in the coming weeks, starting at €219.90.
The most striking feature is the 7,500 mAh battery. Both models support 45W fast charging and can also charge other devices via cable at up to 22.5W. Both models feature a 6.9-inch screen with a resolution of 1600 by 720 pixels. The refresh rate can automatically switch between 60, 90 and 120Hz. Xiaomi uses Gorilla Glass 7i for protection and has given the phones an IP64 rating against dust and water splashes. Both devices weigh 232 grams and are 8.8 millimetres thick.

Two models, with the main difference being the chipset
The Redmi 17 runs on the MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra, whilst the Redmi 17 5G features a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5. The latter, of course, adds support for 5G. Both smartphones run on Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and support memory expansion.
For photography, the models feature a 50-megapixel main camera and an additional auxiliary lens. On the front is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. You can also record video simultaneously using both the front and rear cameras. Other features include dual stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack and NFC. Storage can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD.
