More devices with One UI 8.5
The update to One UI 8.5 has been rolling out to Samsung devices since this week. Earlier, the update appeared for the 'Fan Edition' of the Flip 7, or the Flip 7 FE and the Galaxy S25 series. The update is now being rolled out to more devices, we hear from Harjo and others. The udpate brings several improvements, but sticks to April's security patch. The May update will come at a later date.
Samsung is adding several useful improvements to its Galaxy devices with One UI 8.5. For instance, the weather app gets a revamped widget, weather animations on the lock screen and a pollen index, so you can see hay fever and allergies faster. The camera app also gets more comprehensive with a built-in PDF scanner and a new AI photo editor for image customisation.
Samsung is also improving battery management, security and features like Quick Share. You can now more easily record part of your screen via Quick Settings and view two time zones side by side in the Clock app. There have also been minor improvements in Samsung Health and overall system performance, among others.
