Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 wallpapers reveal new colours

Samsung has been in the news a lot over the last few days. Not just for its smartwatches, but also for its new devices. We’re expecting the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 models next month, and there’s now some news to report on them. We’ve found clues as to the...

Colours of the Galaxy Z Fold 8

Even before Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Z Fold 8, what are believed to be the device’s wallpapers have surfaced. The images not only give an impression of the design Samsung has in mind, but also appear to hint at the colours in which the new foldable smartphone will be available.

According to the leaked information, these are the wallpapers for the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8, and not for a possible Ultra variant. The leaked wallpapers appear in four colour schemes: pink, beige, black/grey and green. This seems to tie in with earlier rumours about the colour variants of the device itself.

The green version in particular stands out. Previous leaks had mentioned a colour called “Pistachio” as a possible variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. The wallpaper in the same shade could be a clue to this.

Design centres on the number 8

The new wallpapers are based on an animation in which the number 8 transforms into a flowing, winding shape. This design naturally ties in with the device’s name and gives the wallpapers a striking look.

Samsung often uses abstract shapes in its standard wallpapers, but this version seems slightly more playful and colourful than the designs of recent years. The Galaxy Z Fold series has long been known for its relatively understated colour choices. That began to change somewhat last year with the introduction of a deep blue version of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

If the leaked wallpapers are indeed a preview of the final device colours, then Samsung appears to be continuing along those lines. The green and pink variants, in particular, could bring a bit more variety to the Fold series.

The device is expected to be announced in July, alongside two new smartwatches.
