Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 with a widescreen display
Samsung is set to launch several foldable devices later this month. We’ve already seen plenty of hints about this in the rumour mill, and now the South Korean manufacturer has started sharing teasers. The official announcement is reportedly set for 22 July. In the teasers, one model in particular is getting the most attention. It is the version with a widescreen display. Previously, this model was known as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, but things now seem to have changed somewhat. If the information is correct, this device will simply be called the ‘Galaxy Z Fold 8’.
Through various posts on social media, Samsung has shared a total of six short teasers. The device itself is not yet visible in them, but the videos do seem to point in a clear direction. The emphasis is consistently on a wider design, which ties in with earlier rumours about a new aspect ratio for the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
The slogans used are also striking. Among other things, Samsung refers to “A new form” and “A bold line”. With this, the company appears to be hinting at a revamped design for the foldable smartphone, in which the screen would be wider than on previous Fold models. The teasers do not yet reveal any technical details. For the time being, Samsung is sticking to subtle hints and is keeping the smartphone itself out of the picture.
Alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 are also expected. In recent weeks, there have also been reports circulating about the company’s new smartwatches: the Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2.
