More colour in Google Calendar
A welcome improvement has been introduced to the Google Calendar app via a server-side update. From now on, you’ll have a wider choice of colours when creating a calendar event. Until today, you could choose from eleven colours, but that number has now been expanded to 24. This makes it even easier to distinguish between events. Unfortunately, it’s still not possible to use a ‘colour picker’, but you can select from a list of different colours.

The new colours are mainly colour variations. Whereas previously you could choose a single colour, such as yellow or red, you now have several variations within each. We also see, for example, the new cocoa brown, light pink and an ‘avocado’ colour. The new colours are available not only in the Google Calendar mobile apps, but also in the web version.

If you can’t see the new colours yet, it might be worth waiting a little while. The new colours are currently being rolled out to all users.
