May update brings changes to Pixel
Google has released the May security update, and since yesterday it can be downloaded for different Pixel models. These are then from the Pixel 6 and newer. Interestingly, Google is releasing the changelog for devices from the Pixel 7a and newer. Including for the latest Pixel 10 series.

Apart from security, it also includes a few practical improvements. For instance, an issue has been addressed where wireless charging sometimes became slow between 75 and 80 per cent battery. So that moment when your device suddenly seems to slow down while charging should now happen less often.
The camera also gets a minor fix. In some situations, the app could crash while filming while zooming in. That's one of those glitches you usually only notice when you just can't use it, so nice that this has been fixed.
Furthermore, the update addresses a number of visual and interface issues. Think of a flickering dot at the top of the screen or annoying noise lines that occasionally appeared. Also, some of the users reported that the keyboard sometimes stuck or was not properly in place in apps. Such minor irritations are smoothed out with this update.
For owners of the latest Pixel 10 series, there is something else to consider. Namely, the update includes a change to the bootloader that prevents you from reverting to older Android versions. This is meant as extra security, but also means you can't simply downgrade after installation.
May's update will be available for the Pixel 7a, Tablet, Fold, 8, 8 Pro, 8a, 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold, 9a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Pixel 10a.
