Google Pixel devices are set to receive further improvements with the July update

Google released the July security update for Android this week. The update is now being rolled out to Pixel models. As well as the new security patch, a range of other improvements are also being made available.

Google is rolling out a new update for the various Pixel devices. The main addition is the July security update. However, that is not the only improvement, as the update also brings various optimisations to the Pixel devices. The fixes apply to the Pixel 6 series and newer models.

For example, an issue has been resolved where certain apps would unexpectedly close or fail to launch. Errors have also been fixed where system widgets were using incorrect colours or contrast settings. In addition, the update addresses a serious issue that caused some devices to fail to boot properly or get stuck in a boot loop under certain circumstances.

The user interface has also received a number of improvements. On foldable smartphones, the navigation buttons now remain in the correct position after the device is opened and closed. Furthermore, a bug has been fixed where the wallpaper effect unintentionally covered the subject of the background image, when it should have been displayed behind the subject.

The update is now being rolled out for the Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Tablet, Fold, 8, 8 Pro, 8a, 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold, 9a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold and the Pixel 10a.
