Pixel 11 Pro in focus
Google is slowly building up the anticipation ahead of the launch of the Pixel 11 series. With around two weeks to go until the ‘Made by Google’ event, the company has shared a new teaser focusing primarily on the Pixel 11 Pro. This gives you your first clear glimpse of the new ‘Glow’ lighting on the back of the device. We’d already seen clear press photos previously.
The short video is part of the ‘Ask more of your phone’ campaign, which Google launched last year. The message is clear: if you make extensive use of Google services, the company argues that the Pixel smartphone should be the logical next step.
The teaser features several well-known apps, including Gmail, Google Maps, Search, Calendar, Docs and Gemini. Google also showcases services such as Google Photos, Drive, Meet, Chrome, Slides, Chat, Translate, Keep, Sheets, Play, Home, Nest and Wallet. In doing so, the company once again emphasises just how closely the Pixel smartphones are integrated with its own ecosystem.
Glow more visible
The most striking moment in the video is a shot of the Pixel 11 Pro filmed head-on. In this shot, the new Glow lighting is more clearly visible than in previous teasers.
The circular light module rotates like a windmill, demonstrating what the new lighting looks like. Previously, Google had only shown an oblique view of the device, which made the details less clearly visible.
However, the video does appear to use a highly stylised rendering. A striking sheen has been applied around the metal camera bar, but according to current information, this does not mean that the entire frame will be illuminated. It is expected that only the circular Glow module will actually emit light. We’ll find out all the details on 12 August, when the official announcement is due.
