Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold featured in an extensive photo series

An extensive photo series of the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold has appeared on the World Wide Web. Thanks to Evan Blass, we can see very clearly what Google’s new foldable smartphone will look like. It seems the brand has opted for an extra-slim foldable.

The official launch of the Pixel 11 series is drawing ever closer, and in the meantime, new images continue to surface. This time, high-resolution images of the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold have appeared, courtesy of Evan Blass. Although the design looks largely familiar, Google’s new foldable smartphone does appear to be slightly thinner than its predecessor. The images, which look as though they’ve come straight from Google’s promotional material, show the Pixel 11 Pro Fold in a dark green colour. This shade resembles the previous Jade colour, but is slightly darker.

Familiar design

Anyone hoping for a completely new look is unlikely to find many surprises. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold largely retains the same design as the previous generation. However, a revamped camera module, the previously revealed Glow lighting and the emphasis on Gemini do stand out in the images.

Nevertheless, there appears to be one subtle change that immediately catches the eye: the device looks thinner. According to earlier rumours, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is set to measure 10.1 millimetres thick when folded. That is slightly less than the 10.8 millimetres of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. In the leaked images, the space around the speakers and buttons also appears to be smaller, which reinforces that impression.

Not the thinnest

Despite this potential improvement, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is unlikely to be the thinnest foldable smartphone on the market. According to the leaked information, the device remains thicker than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is 9.7 millimetres thick. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is also said to be even slimmer. In terms of size, the Pixel seems more likely to fall into the same category as the Motorola Razr Fold, which is also around 10.1 millimetres thick.

The leaked images show that Google is sticking with the existing design once again. This means the company appears to be using the same design style for the third year running. The screen bezels also still look relatively wide compared to some competitors.

Whether the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is actually thinner and what other improvements Google has made will likely become clear soon. The company is hosting its next ‘Made by Google’ event on 12 August, where the full Pixel 11 range will be officially announced.
