Gemini gets expanded
The revamped Gemini app gets a fresh look with what Google calls "Neural Expressive". This includes smoother animations, vibrant colours and richer answers with, for example, images, charts, timelines and summaries. According to Google, this should reduce the need to scroll through long pieces of text.

Gemini Live is also getting an upgrade. You will soon be able to switch more easily between typing and talking, without losing the context of the conversation. Google is also working on support for regional accents and dialects to make conversations feel more natural. Furthermore, Gemini 3.5 Flash. A next generation of advanced intelligence, combining this with lightning-fast action, she promises
Gemini Spark
One of the most notable additions is Gemini Spark. That's a new AI agent that can perform tasks independently in the background. Think analysing your emails, summarising meeting notes or recognising recurring subscriptions on your bank statement. Spark works with apps like Gmail, Docs and Slides and should eventually be able to perform actions via services like OpenTable and Instacart.
Google stresses that as a user, you remain in control. For important actions, such as purchases or payments, Gemini first asks permission. To that end, Google is also developing a new payment system specifically for AI agents.

Daily Brief
In addition, Google is coming up with Daily Brief, a personal morning briefing within Gemini. This uses information from your calendar, reminders and travel plans to conveniently summarise your day. The idea is reminiscent of Google's previous experiments with smart day summaries, but now fully integrated into Gemini. In doing so, the feature is somewhat reminiscent of Daily Brief on Samsung's Galaxy devices.

Google is also making strides creatively. With Gemini Omni, the company is introducing a new AI model that lets you generate and edit videos based on text, images or existing clips. For example, you could edit a video via voice commands without using traditional editing apps.
The new Gemini features are being rolled out in phases for Android, iOS and the web. Some features will be limited to paid AI subscriptions and US users for now.
