Updates for Android devices
For several Android devices, manufacturers have started rolling out a new update. For instance, Oppo's most expensive high-end smartphone is being updated, and there is an update for the sustainable Fairphone 6. We included that smartphone in our independent Buy Advice over the weekend, for best smartphone up to 500 euros. But more smartphones are being updated. We give you an overview in this article.
Oppo Find X9 Ultra
First of all, there is the Oppo Find X9 Ultra. This high-end smartphone with extended camera, comes with ColorOS 16.0.7.207. The update which has a size of around 466MB brings May's security update to the phone. In the process, there are several improvements for the camera and Oppo promises improvements for communication.

Fairphone 6
We get word from Jesse that the Fairphone 6 will also be updated. The smartphone will receive the May security update. Several issues are addressed with the QREL.16.69.0 update. For instance, you can now swap the navigation bar buttons, for 'back' and 'recent apps'. Furthermore, the management of background processes has been optimised for better multitasking and an issue where you couldn't close apps from 'recent apps' while the keyboard was active has been fixed. The Fairphone 6 also gets improvements in taking photos, which were sometimes not being saved, playing audio on a Bluetooth device and general other improvements.

Samsung
At Samsung, several phones and tablets are being updated. First of all, some devices are being updated to One UI 8.5. Here you can benefit from new weather animations and an improved weather widget, taking a screen shot of the part of the screen and the revamped quick settings panel. Some other improvements have also been added by Samsung.

A new security update has been made available for other models. The new May update can be downloaded from now on for the following models:
- Samsung Galaxy S22
- Samsung Galaxy S22+
- Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4
Samsung has not given any information on whether the five smartphones above can expect the update to One UI 8.5 at all.
