Update for Signal
Signal has released a new update that focuses primarily on improving group chats and group calls. At the same time, the messaging app remains true to what it is known for: private communication with end-to-end encryption.
One of the new features is that group administrators can now delete messages posted by other participants. Previously, administrators could only delete their own messages. With this new feature, they can delete group messages posted within the last 24 hours. Other group members will see a notification stating that the message has been deleted by an administrator.

Managing conversations
Managing conversations has also been made easier. The number of chats you can pin to the top of your chat list has been increased from four to ten. This allows you to keep more important conversations right at your fingertips without having to scroll through a long list of messages first.
Group chats
For group calls, Signal is also introducing a new option to mute other participants during voice and video calls. When someone is muted, that person is temporarily inaudible to the rest of the group. This is primarily intended to help reduce background noise and make large group calls more manageable. The muted participant can unmute their microphone themselves at any time.
According to Signal, the updates are designed to make the app more user-friendly. The new features are available via the latest version of Signal for Android, iOS and desktop. Signal also reiterates that the app is open source. The source code is publicly available and can be checked by anyone, which, according to the company, contributes to transparency and trust in the platform’s security.
