Swarm in black and white
A major update is on the way for the location app Swarm. Just like Foursquare used to, the app lets you check in to wherever you are at that moment. This could be a supermarket or a restaurant, but also numerous other places, such as a crossroads or a place of interest. Although the app was clearly more popular years ago, the service is still loved by a group of users. The new update offers a completely different experience, including faster check-ins.
Whereas the previous version of Swarm centred on the colour orange, the new version is quite different. First of all, the app icon is now black and white. This colour scheme is also reflected throughout the app, occasionally interspersed with purple elements. Once you’ve got the hang of it, the layout is a little clearer. In the new version of Swarm, you can check in with the friends you’re with more quickly. At the bottom of the screen, you have direct access to the timeline showing the places you’ve visited. You’ll also find the Explore mode, which lets you discover what’s in your neighbourhood, and of course there’s the timeline of the friends you follow.
