Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 leaked again
With just one day to go before Samsung officially unveils its new products, marketing images of the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 have been leaked once again. The images provide a detailed look at the design and appear to confirm some previously reported specifications. The images were shared by Evan Blass.
Samsung is organising a new Galaxy Unpacked event on 22 July. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 are expected to be announced there. In the run-up to that event, many details have already emerged, and now the smartwatch has once again been shown in detail. Yesterday, we reported on the major Galaxy Watch 9 leak, which revealed a great deal about the watch.
The leaked marketing images show the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 from various angles. Particularly striking are the close-ups of the redesigned action button, the watch straps and the casing. Although the design remains largely recognisable, there are subtle adjustments that give the smartwatch an even more robust look. A new forest green colour variant is also on display.
As well as the design, some specifications have resurfaced. For instance, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is said to feature an 800 mAh battery, a significant step up from the 590 mAh battery in the current model. It is not yet known how long the smartwatch will ultimately last on a single charge. This will partly depend on the new Snapdragon Wear Elite chip, which, according to earlier rumours, delivers better performance.
Furthermore, the marketing images mention a maximum screen brightness of 5,000 nits and IP69K certification for water and dust resistance. This would make the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 better able to withstand harsh conditions and remain clearly legible even in bright sunlight.
If the rumours are correct, you won’t have to wait much longer. Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 on 22 July, alongside its new generation of foldable smartphones and the Galaxy Watch 9.
