Samsung Galaxy A27
Samsung has announced the Galaxy A27. On paper, it appears to be a logical successor to the Galaxy A26, but a side-by-side comparison of the specifications reveals that not everything has improved. In some respects, the new model actually offers slightly less, whilst the expected retail price is set to be higher.

The Galaxy A27 once again features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The 5000 mAh battery and 25-watt fast charging also remain unchanged. Under the bonnet, Samsung has opted this time for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, whereas the Galaxy A26 ran on an Exynos 1380 chip. According to benchmarks, the difference in performance appears to be limited.
There are minor changes to the camera setup. The main camera remains a 50-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilisation. However, the wide-angle camera has been downgraded from 8 megapixels to 5 megapixels. The selfie camera also has a slightly lower resolution: 12 megapixels instead of 13 megapixels.

A more notable change concerns water resistance. The Galaxy A26 had an IP67 rating, meaning the device could be used underwater for short periods. The new Galaxy A27 has an IP64 rating. This means the smartphone is still protected against dust and splashes, but no longer against submersion.
Furthermore, the Galaxy A27 runs on Android 16 with One UI 8.5 straight out of the box. Samsung is once again promising six Android upgrades and six years of security updates. Support for microSD cards up to 2TB also remains.
Although Samsung has not yet confirmed an official price for the UK, online retailers and earlier rumours suggest a price of 349 euros for the version with 128GB of storage. That is 50 euros more than the Galaxy A26 cost at launch. The 256GB storage variant is even expected to rise from 369 euros to 439 euros. According to the available information, these price increases may be linked to the rising costs of memory and storage.
Samsung has not yet announced exactly when the Galaxy A27 will be released in the Netherlands and Belgium. The smartphone is available in light green, pink, black and dark blue. Once Samsung Netherlands announces the prices, we will also find out which colours will be available in the Netherlands.
