‘Nothing plans to expand significantly in 2027: twice as many smartphones are on the cards’

Nothing appears to have big plans for 2027. The company has announced that it intends to launch twice as many smartphones next year as it did in 2026. That would amount to six new models, with which the brand aims to significantly expand its range.

More choice within the Nothing range

To date, Nothing has released three smartphones in 2026: the Nothing Phone (4a), Phone (4a) Pro and Phone (4b). According to Akis Evangelidis of Nothing, that’s all for this year, but the range is set to expand significantly in 2027. The company refers to a “broader range of smartphones”, although no specific models have been mentioned yet. Exactly which devices are in the pipeline therefore remains unknown for the time being.

Possible scope for a new flagship

Nothing is keeping its cards close to its chest. According to the company, it is still too early to discuss specific products. However, it seems likely that there will once again be scope for a new top-of-the-range model alongside the affordable smartphones on which the brand has primarily focused in recent years. Nothing says more details will follow closer to the launch of the new devices.

It is striking that this ambition comes at a time when the smartphone market is facing challenges. In particular, rising memory prices – dubbed ‘RAMageddon’ by some – are putting pressure on affordable smartphones.

Nevertheless, Nothing says it is sticking to its plans. The company not only wants to double the number of models, but is also aiming for a 50 per cent increase in device sales in 2027 compared to this year. According to Evangelidis, expanding the product range is a key part of this.

CMF smartphone not yet confirmed

It has not yet been decided whether a new CMF Phone will be released next year. Nothing is monitoring, amongst other things, trends in memory prices before making a final decision. For the smartphones under the Nothing brand, however, the plans appear to be largely finalised.

According to the interview, Nothing is also working on other expansions alongside smartphones. For instance, the company plans to open two new physical shops in India and continues to invest in its audio products. We recently discussed the Nothing Ear (3a) in a detailed review on DroidApp, and were very impressed with it. Furthermore, more new products are expected to be released before the end of 2026. It is not yet known exactly what these will be, although rumours are already circulating about a Nothing smartwatch.
