Motorola Razr 70 family announced
From mid-May, you'll find three new folding phones from Motorola. The brand has just announced the new Razr 70 series: the Razr 70, Razr 70 Plus and Razr 70 Ultra. All three models will be released in our country, and so there is a lot to catch up on about the new phones. The devices are similar, but differ mainly in performance, screen and price. All three devices open in the familiar way, as folding phones, with an external display on the outside. In the standard model, this is a 3.63-inch screen; in the Plus and Ultra models, this display is 4.0 inches.

When unfolded, you get a large OLED screen on all models. The Ultra has the biggest and brightest display at 6.96 inches, while the Plus and standard variant are just below that at 6.9 inches. In practice, this means smooth video watching and scrolling, though you'll mainly notice a difference in brightness and finish.
Under the bonnet is the biggest distinction. The Ultra runs on a high-end Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and targets those who want maximum performance. The Plus is just below that with a slightly less powerful processor, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, while the standard version uses a MediaTek 7450X chip.

Motorola Razr 70 Plus
The battery also differs. The Ultra has the largest battery and charges fastest, followed by the Plus and then the entry-level model. Here, the standard device has a 4800 mAh battery with 30W charging and 15W wireless charging. The Razr 70 Ultra gets a 5000 mAh battery with 68W charging and 30W wireless charging. The Plus sits in between with a 4500 mAh battery, capable of 45W fast charging and 15W wireless.
As for the camera, the Razr 70 Ultra features a 50-megapixel main camera, 50-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 50-megapixel selfie lens. The Razr 70 Plus and Standard offer a 50MP main and wide-angle lens, and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. All three devices are IP48-certified.

Motorola Razr 70 Ultra
What stands out is Motorola's commitment to design. You can choose from different materials and colours, including textured or wood-look variants. This makes this series visually different from many other smartphones. We also saw this with the Razr 60 Ultra, which we discussed in detail in the Razr 60 Ultra review.
The Motorola Razr 70 costs 869.99 euros (8GB/256GB), the Razr 70 Plus 1149.99 euros (12GB/512GB) and the Ultra 1399.99 euros (16GB/512GB). For that money, you do get a meagre update policy: only three Android OS updates and five years of security updates.
