First reports on the Oppo Find N7 foldable: a brand-new chipset

More and more manufacturers are focusing on foldables. Oppo has also been active in this segment for a number of years. Rumours are now circulating about the Oppo Find N7, the successor to the N6. Oppo has a number of improvements in store.

The successor to the recently launched Oppo Find N6 is slowly taking shape. According to new rumours, Oppo is working on the Find N7, a foldable smartphone that is set to bring further improvements to one of the most talked-about aspects of foldables: the screen fold.

The Oppo Find N6 was launched with one standout feature: the barely visible crease in the screen. However, it seems Oppo wants to take this a step further. According to information from the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, the Find N7 will feature a redesigned hinge that is set to make the crease even less visible and noticeable to the touch.

In addition, the device is said to have a slightly different shape. The foldable inner screen is reportedly set to measure 7.6 inches, whilst the outer screen will be 5.5 inches. This suggests that Oppo is opting for a wider design, in line with the direction expected for other upcoming foldables, such as Apple’s iPhone Fold and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, both of which are due to be released soon.

Details about the screen are still scarce, but this suggests that manufacturers are increasingly focusing on wider aspect ratios that are closer to a traditional smartphone experience.

Oppo may be collaborating with Samsung Display or the Chinese firm BOE on the screens. Development of the foldable screen is reportedly already complete.

A powerful processor is expected under the bonnet. According to rumours, Oppo is testing the Find N7 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip. This new processor is said to be manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 2nm process and is expected to be officially announced by Qualcomm later this year.

An official unveiling of the Oppo Find N7 is likely still some way off. Current information suggests a launch in the first quarter of 2027. That would be approximately one year after the launch of the Find N6. The Find N6 is not officially available in the Netherlands, but is offered by Belsimpel.
