'Google Pixels get same navigation buttons as Samsung devices'

If you switch from a Samsung phone to a Google Pixel, you may have to get used to using the navigation keys. Google is now working on a change that will allow you to use the navigation keys in the same order on the Google Pixel as on Samsung.

Clues have been found in Android 16 QPR2 regarding the navigation buttons on Pixel devices. Namely, it will be possible to customise the order of the buttons to suit your needs. While the home button will always remain in the centre, you can adjust the position of 'recent' and 'back' to your liking. By default, on Android devices, the back button is at the bottom left, but on Samsung, this is reversed, and 'back' is at the bottom right of the screen.

The change is not yet available to the general public, but is currently being tested. It is not known when Google will roll out the functionality to every user. By the way, you can also still just choose gesture controls, where you can use swipes to perform different actions.
