Google Pixel 11 series: here are all the leaked specifications, cameras and prices

Google is holding a new press conference on 12 August, at which it will announce the Pixel 11 series. We’ll also be seeing other new products there, such as the new Pixel Watch 5 smartwatch. But now the story is back in the news, and we’re finding out...

Google Pixel 11 series back in the news

The official launch of the Google Pixel 11 series is scheduled for 12 August, but thanks to a steady stream of recent leaks, a great deal is already known. If the rumours are correct, the new range will consist of the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The Pixel Watch 5, new Pixel Buds Pro 2 colourways and possibly the new Google Pixel Tag also look set to be part of the announcements.

Design and technical specifications

In terms of design, the Pixel 11 models closely resemble their predecessors. The devices are said to be slightly thinner and will feature minor tweaks to the familiar camera bar. According to the leaks, the flash on the Pro models and the Pro Fold will have an additional function as RGB lighting. This feature may be called HiLight and could, amongst other things, provide visual signals for certain notifications or when Gemini is in use.

Under the bonnet, the Tensor G6 will be a major change. According to the leaks, this chip will be manufactured by TSMC using a 2nm process for the first time. Google is also said to be switching to a MediaTek M90 modem. The base storage capacity is set to increase to at least 256GB across all models. Screen sizes will remain largely the same, but maximum brightness is expected to rise to 3,000 nits for the Pixel 11 and 3,600 nits for the Pro models.

Camera and charging

Changes are also planned in the camera department. The standard Pixel 11 is expected to feature a 48-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens, with up to 30x zoom, although the latter is digital. The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL are expected to feature, amongst other things, a 48-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and a maximum Pro Zoom of 120x. The foldable Pro Fold model is also set to feature updated camera sensors.

The Pixel 11 series is also expected to feature upgraded batteries, faster charging and support for Qi2 wireless charging. This is said to be 45W fast charging for the Pro XL, whilst the other models are expected to feature 30W fast charging. Gemini Intelligence will also play a greater role, offering more contextual and proactive assistance via your Google account and apps.

According to the latest information, prices are set to rise, partly because the 128GB storage option is being phased out as the entry-level model. In the United States, the Pixel 11 is expected to cost from $899, followed by $1,099 for the Pro, $1,299 for the Pro XL and $1,899 for the Pro Fold. Google will officially announce all the details on 12 August. Of course, we’ll keep you updated on this here at DroidApp.
