The forgotten phone: LG T300 Cookie Mini

Several LG Cookie models were released almost two decades ago. One of these was the LG T300 Cookie Mini, which was also known as Cookie Lite. We discuss the device today in this edition of ‘The Forgotten Phone’.

With the LG Cookie line, LG managed to release several fresh, popular devices. The LG KP500 Cookie was the most famous, equipped with the stylus. This phone appeared in 2008. Then there were other Cookie models, such as the LG KS290 Cookie Fresh, and the LG T300 Cookie Mini. Although the addition 'Lite' was used worldwide, in the Netherlands and Belgium the phone appeared under the name 'LG T300 Cookie Mini'.

The phone stood out for its compact size. On the front was a 2.4-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. This really put the phone in the cheap class. LG's phone featured a so-called resistive touchscreen, which responds to precise touch. This means it does not respond to the heat of fingers, as you see in smartphones today. The device measured 95.8 x 50.5 x 11.9 millimetres, weighing 77 grams. For taking photos, the T300 was equipped with a 1.3 megapixel camera. In addition, there was support for GSM and EDGE and you could listen to music via the 3.5 millimetre headset jack.

On board the LG T300 Cookie Mini offered an FM radio, 20MB of memory with an option to expand via a memory card, and integration for various social networks. The Cartoon UI gave a playful effect to the skin LG included over the software. The phone's 900mAh battery was swappable. If you chose this LG, you could choose from several colours, including pink and the combinations silver-orange and black-red. You had to pay around 80-100 euros for this model.
