Spotify quietly releases new tablet interface for music app

If you use Spotify on your tablet, it may just look different. The Swedish music service is rolling out a new interface for the service. Remarkable, as there was no big announcement, even though the changes are quite big.

New tablet interface for Spotify

The Spotify app has been revamped. At least, if you use the music player on your Android tablet. The change is interesting, as the originally Swedish service has not given much publicity about it. DroidApp reader Sander tells us that he saw the new interface suddenly pop up on his Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. This is the stable version of the app that has been updated, so not a test in a beta programme.

The new interface shows a separate media player on the right. You can make this larger and smaller just like in the desktop version. When you maximise it, the visuals are more visible; when you minimise it, you have the full screen at your disposal for browsing. The bar at the bottom of the screen with Home, Search, Library and Create has also been newly added.

The change is already visible on Sander, and we suspect more tablet users will get the new Spotify app rolled out.
