Sony Xperia 1 VIII emerges on renders with new design

Once again, we see images of Sony's new high-end smartphone. We have seen the new Sony Xperia 1 VIII several times in the rumour circuit, and now leaker OnLeaks has gone to work on the new device. We can see the new design.

Sony is working behind the scenes on the new high-end Xperia 1 VIII. The device will succeed the current Xperia 1 VII and its announcement is expected sometime in the next few weeks. We are hearing more and more about the device and what stands out the most is the new design. No longer the separate lenses under each other, but a square module in which the lenses are placed.

OnLeaks ' information reveals even more specifications. The Japanese manufacturer is said to provide the device with dimensions 161.9 x 74.4 x 8.58 millimetres, with a total thickness at the camera bump of 11.37 millimetres. With these dimensions, the device is 0.1 millimetres shorter, but 0.4 millimetres wider. The current Xperia is 8.2 millimetres thick. The Xperia 1 VIII will have the same screen bezels as the current model, with a 6.5-inch screen.

Further specifications are still missing, but according to the source, we won't have to wait long for those. Sony reportedly plans to announce the Xperia 1 VIII in May, with the device available for purchase from June.
