Snapseed 4.0
Some time ago, it was announced that Snapseed would be getting a major update. This new version first became available for the iPhone, and now Google is releasing Snapseed 4.0 for Android. What immediately stands out: it is a massive update with a completely new design. Although the controls work largely the same, the application has been completely redesigned by the developers.

Snapseed 4.0 features its own camera tool. This allows you to open the camera directly from the photo editor and choose a filter. These include, for example, Kodak, Fuji, Agfa or Polaroid. But of course, you can also still just tackle existing photos via the photo editor. The revamped app brings a new home page, where you can immediately see which photos you have edited. If you want to start working on a new photo, you can do so at the press of a button.

When you open the new version for the first time, you get a brief explanation of how the app works. As for the controls, not much has changed. This means that you can use a swipe from top to bottom to choose from different options, using a horizontal swipe to adjust the intensity of the respective operation. The editor is divided into several tabs: appearance, tools and export. There again, you can choose from, for example, refine, correct, style and all. You can also work with different filters that you can load via Snapseed.

According to Google, editing photos is now smoother and more intuitive. Thereby, more than 30 professional filters and tools are available for free, with no subscription, watermark or ad. The update to Snapseed 4.0 is available from now. For those looking for an app that lets you go in many directions with your photos, Snapseed is definitely worth a try.
