One UI 8.5 screenshots
Samsung has several plans ready for the new skin One UI 8.5. With the new version, users will encounter several changes. From the week, we already wrote about the presence of Liquid Glass, as we know it from the recently announced Apple iPhone 17 series with iOS 26. It has some proponents, but also many detractors. Yet Samsung seems to want to include these ideas in the new One UI 8.5 skin.
New screenshots reveal that Samsung is working on 3D effects for icons. It would be a somewhat subtle update to icons, but will make icons look like they are 'coming out of the screen', although somewhere it also looks more like a shadow effect.
Another change reported is more visible. These include updated redesigns for Digital Wellbeing (or Digital Wellbeing), support for split screen when screen recording and there is a new gradient in the gallery app. This, in turn, is reminiscent of Apple. Some other system apps have also been given a new sauce.
