Mobile payment with a Samsung Galaxy S26 gets even better. This is according to new reports circulating about the new smartphone series. The reason it will be better has to do with the placement of the NFC antenna.
Better NFC antenna on Galaxy S26
Korean ETnews reports that Samsung is preparing for better mobile payments with the smartphone. We will start to see the improvement reflected on the Samsung Galaxy S26 models. It will be a while before this range is announced, as we do not expect the range until January 2026. According to the source, the Galaxy S26 will get a second NFC antenna on the top of the device. This will make it easier to make mobile payments.

Most Android devices have the NFC antenna in the middle, at the back. Usually this works well, but when making contactless payments, this can sometimes be a bit awkward, requiring you to move the device to find the right position. With the new arrangement, Samsung wants to simplify that usage. By also placing an antenna at the top, it will make it easier to make payments without having to precisely point your device. Apple has been using a similar approach on the iPhone for some time, but it is new for Android. Samsung would have had to bypass technical challenges and patents to do so. Samsung thus retains the existing antenna near the camera on the Galaxy S26 series.
We will not hear full details about the new Galaxy S26 series until next year. Earlier reports did come online that Samsung would opt for a new model in the series; the Galaxy S26 Pro.
