Samsung Galaxy S26 series: this is what we expect
Winfuture is a reliable source that has proven itself with information on several occasions in the past. News is now out about the Samsung Galaxy S26, and it is not all rosy news. Leaked specifications provide information about the features of the new smartphone series. Samsung is opting for the Exynos 2600 chipset in the devices in Europe. This while the US models will carry the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. All three models will get 12GB of RAM, although the more expensive Galaxy S26 Ultra handsets will come with 16GB of working memory.
The specification sheet shares some other information. A 6.3-inch screen can be found on the S26, where the S26+ looks to feature a 6.7-inch screen. The Galaxy S26 Ultra will have a 6.9-inch screen with a higher resolution than the other two models. Samsung will equip the Galaxy S26 Ultra with a new Privacy Display, something the source does not say anything else about, but which Samsung has shown in a teaser.

Samsung will not equip the models with Qi 2.2, but will still offer higher wireless speeds. Wireless charging will come out at 15W with the S26 and S26+, while the S26 Ultra can offer 25W wireless charging. As for wired charging, steps have also been made. The Ultra will offer 60W fast charging, the S26+ 45W and the S26 with 25W. Interestingly, in terms of battery capacity, it all doesn't get very much bigger than before. The Samsung Galaxy S26 is the only model to get a larger battery capacity. It will get a 4300 mAh battery, where the S26+ will stick to a 4900 mAh battery. A 5000 mAh battery has been conceived for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. This is in contrast to an earlier rumour, which talked about 5500 mAh.
There are some minor tweaks for the camera. The Galaxy S26 and S26+ will get a smaller maximum aperture for the wide-angle and telephoto lenses. The rear cameras get a 50-megapixel main lens, 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens. The Ultra model talks about a larger maximum aperture. For example, the 200-megapixel main camera now offers an aperture of f/1.4. This should make it possible to take even better photos in dark environments. There is also a 50-megapixel telephoto lens and a 50-megapixel wide-angle.
The smartphones come with One UI 8.5, based on Android 16, though it seems that no major changes will be made. Those are only expected from the summer with the arrival of the new foldables. The announcement is 25 February 2026.
