Is this the Galaxy Buds On?
The images, which have surfaced via a Samsung app, show the earbuds from various angles. This makes the design clearer than in previous leaked icons, which revealed very few details.
Whereas the current Galaxy Buds series sit inside your ear canal, the Galaxy Buds On appear to rest on your ear. This open-ear design is similar to earbuds from brands such as Motorola and Huawei.
The advantage of this design is that you can listen to music whilst still being able to hear more of your surroundings. This can be particularly useful when walking, running or cycling, for example.
The images also show a green or grey accent colour. It is not yet clear whether this is part of the design or whether it is lighting.

Charging case
The charging case is also visible in the new renders. It bears a strong resemblance to the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro case, suggesting that Samsung may be using the same design across several audio products.
Nothing is known yet about the technical specifications. The final name also remains uncertain. Earlier rumours mentioned both ‘Galaxy Buds Able’ and ‘Galaxy Buds On’, with the latter name cropping up most frequently of late.
When will the announcement be made?
Many followers were surprised that Samsung had not yet unveiled the earbuds at Galaxy Unpacked. That event focused instead on the new foldable smartphones and smartwatches.
As a result, attention is now shifting to the next major technology trade fair: IFA in September. That event is considered the most logical venue for the launch of the new earbuds. There are also already rumours that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S26 FE and possibly new tablets there as well.
For the time being, Samsung itself has not confirmed anything. Nevertheless, the repeated leaks suggest that the launch is likely not far off. If the rumours are correct, the Galaxy Buds series will soon be joined by a completely new type of wireless earbuds.
