Pixel 11 wallpapers
Whereas Google has regularly opted for striking and colourful backgrounds in recent years, the company appears to be taking a more subdued direction with the Pixel 11. The new wallpapers are based on aerial photographs of shallow water and gentle wave patterns. The result is a minimalist look with subtle colours and few striking accents.
Four variants have been released for the standard Pixel 11, in black, green, pink and purple. The colours look calm and fit with the trend towards more understated smartphone designs. The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL also get their own set of wallpapers, featuring shades such as black, beige, silver and a grey-green colour.
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold has the most limited selection. Only two wallpapers have been leaked for this foldable model: a black-and-white version and one with green accents. Both follow the same water and wave theme seen throughout the rest of the series.
As with previous Pixel generations, both light and dark versions are available. The light versions look slightly more vibrant, but remain clearly more subtle than the wallpapers Google used last year for the Pixel 10 series.
The leaked images also appear to hint at the possible colours of the devices themselves. The colours of the standard Pixel 11 wallpapers match earlier rumours of black, green, pink and purple versions. For the Pro models, black, green, beige and a lighter shade of grey could be among the possibilities.
Although these are, of course, merely wallpapers, they suggest that Google may be opting for a calmer and more refined design this year. Those who prefer bright colours and eye-catching visuals may find the new style a little too understated. At the same time, the minimalist character fits well with the sleek look that the Pixel series has increasingly focused on in recent years.
