New design for OnePlus 15
OnePlus is saying goodbye to the circular camera module it used in its latest generations of smartphones. Instead, the Chinese manufacturer is opting for a camera module that is a bit more subdued, but will once again have its own distinctive design. Earlier, it was announced that OnePlus is opting for its own image processing and will no longer partner with Hasselblad. Of course, it remains to be seen what this means for photo quality, but if reports are to be believed, it should all be even better.
With the OnePlus 15, the successor to the OnePlus 13 released this year, the brand is opting for a major redesign, thus including the new camera module. This was shown in a photo from an e-sports event, and so OnePlus has officially started teasing the new device.
The new camera module is a square with rounded corners, with cutouts for three lenses and an LED flash. Here, we expect a main camera, telephoto lens and a wide-angle lens. The camera module is reminiscent of that of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and Google's current foldable. We first saw the camera module back on the OnePlus 13T, which went through life as the OnePlus 13S in some regions. It will thus be extended to the OnePlus 15.
In another post on the Weibo network, 'Digital Chat Station' source shared that the new device will feature a ceramic coating and matte texture. This should ensure that it is four times stronger than titanium, the source reports. In doing so, the device will be thinner than the 8.8 millimetres that the new Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max is thick.
We expect the new OnePlus 15 first in home country China, which is believed to happen in the coming weeks. We expect the global release late this year, early next year. As soon as more is known about this, we will of course keep you updated.
