Nothing’s sub-brand CMF launches Clip Pro: the first open-ear earbuds

CMF is a sub-brand of the manufacturer Nothing. The brand is now launching its first open-ear earbuds: the Clip Pro. The earbuds, which are also being released here in the Netherlands, will have to prove themselves with a stylish design and good sound...

CMF Clip Pro

CMF, a sub-brand of Nothing, has announced the Clip Pro. These are the brand’s first open-ear earbuds. This design allows you to listen to music, make calls or play podcasts, whilst remaining aware of what’s going on around you. According to CMF, the Clip Pro has been developed to strike a balance between comfort and sound quality.

CMF Clip Pro

The Clip Pro features an updated clip design that rests on your ear at three contact points. This distributes pressure more evenly and ensures the earbuds stay securely in place, whether you’re out and about, working or exercising. The flexible C-shaped bridge contains a titanium wire core that adapts to different ear shapes. Thanks to the skin-friendly materials and the low weight of just 5.9 grams per earbud, they’re designed to be worn comfortably for long periods, the brand promises.

For sound quality, CMF uses a 10.8 mm dual-magnet dynamic driver, tuned for a balanced sound with powerful bass, clear vocals and crisp treble. As open-ear earbuds naturally produce less bass, CMF has added Ultra Bass technology to boost the bass when needed. The Clip Pro also supports Hi-Res Audio and the LDAC, AAC and SBC codecs.

Call quality has also been given special attention. The earbuds feature four HD microphones, a Voice Pickup Unit (VPU) and Clear Voice technology, which is designed to reduce background noise so that your voice remains clearer. With the Sound Seal feature, CMF also aims to minimise sound leakage. Via the Nothing X app, you can set whether this feature is active only during calls or also whilst playing music.

Smart controls

The Clip Pro comes with a charging case fitted with a Smart Dial. This allows you to adjust the volume, control music and answer calls, amongst other things. The earbuds also have physical buttons for quick control.

According to CMF, the earbuds last up to 10 hours on a single charge. Together with the charging case, the total listening time amounts to 32.5 hours. A ten-minute quick charge also gives you up to four hours’ extra listening time. Furthermore, the Clip Pro supports Bluetooth 5.4, can be connected to two devices simultaneously, and can be personalised via the Nothing X app. You can also locate lost earbuds via the app. Thanks to their IP54 rating, the earbuds are resistant to dust and splashes.

Availability

The CMF Clip Pro will be released on 1 September 2026 and will have a recommended retail price of 79 euros. You can choose from dark grey, light grey and coral. Nothing recently launched the Nothing Ear (3a), which we were very impressed with in our review. They might well be the very best earbuds.
