A new launch is behind Huawei. The Chinese manufacturer is betting fully on accessories. After all, the brand is almost out of interest in our country with smartphones, due to the lack of Google services due to US sanctions. The brand has now succeeded again in the new products it announced today. We see several new products, including the new Huawei Watch 5 and the Watch Fit 4 series. The Huawei Watch 5 is the brand's new high-end smartwatch. What immediately stands out about the new model is its sleek design. According to Huawei, it is a step forward in health functions and smart interactions. The casing is sapphire glass and the whole thing a futuristic design, with the screen being curved. The brightness of the screen is 3000 Nits, which should make it extremely readable even on sun-drenched days. The watch will be available in a 42mm and 46mm case. The watch is made of steel and with a thickness of 2.2 millimetres, is thinner than its predecessor. On the side, you will find the crown, which you can use to scroll through menus, for example. In doing so, you can control the Huawei Watch 5 via the screen, but also via finger movements, which the watch can pick up.
On the side is a button with sensors. This contains tactile sensing, PPG (for measuring various vital signs) and ECG readings. Huawei speaks of the Multi-Sensing X-Tap technology, which is supposed to be more accurate than other techniques. Furthermore, you can measure SpO2 with your finger in less than ten seconds, and there is a One-Tap Health Glance that lets you learn more about your health within a minute. Also, Huawei allows you to measure your HRV. This information is collected in a graph that contains information about measurements from the past seven days. Athletes can select more than 100 workouts.
The Huawei Watch 5 allows you to use offline (colour) navigation, without needing your smartphone. This will work via Speaking of smartphone; the watch can handle both Android and iOS and of course works with Huawei's EMUI devices. The 42mm variant should offer a maximum battery life of 3 days, the 46mm model 4.5 days. Huawei also promises support for NFC payments, although this will also need support from banks.
