Google Play system update May–June 2026: here’s what’s new

Google has released the June Google Play update. The new update is being rolled out to various Android devices and brings a range of improvements and optimisations. The June update also introduces some new features.

June Google Play update

Google releases a Google Play update every month. This is a system update that is separate from other updates, such as Android version updates and security updates. Each of these updates introduces improvements and optimisations. This is also the case this month, with Google addressing various issues. We’ve listed these improvements in the changelog below.

The update is being rolled out in phases by device, so it’s not just for Pixel models. It may therefore take a while before you receive a notification.
