Pixel Watch 5 in press photos
Last Tuesday we wrote about the many press photos of the Pixel 11 series, and today it’s time for another major leak. The new smartwatch Google is working on has surfaced in the rumour mill. It is the new Google Pixel Watch 5. It is set to be announced next month, with 12 August being the date circulating in the corridors. Thanks to the press images that have emerged, we can see what the watch looks like, what colours it will come in and which models will be available.
The images, shared by The Tide Chart in collaboration with OnLeaks, show the Pixel Watch 5 in both 41 mm and 45 mm versions. In addition, the smartwatch is reportedly set to be available once again as a Wi-Fi model and an LTE version.
However, anyone hoping for a completely new design seems unlikely to see many changes. According to the leaked renders, the Pixel Watch 5 remains largely faithful to the design of the Pixel Watch 4. For example, the recognisable rounded glass casing, the charging connectors on the side and the proprietary strap attachment are all present once again.
The colour options also appear largely familiar. The 41 mm version is said to be available in dark anthracite, natural silver, pyrite and warm gold. According to the leak, the larger 45 mm version will come in three colours: dark anthracite, natural silver and pyrite. The warm gold colour will therefore remain exclusive to the smaller model.
In addition to the design, a few expected specifications are also mentioned. For instance, the Pixel Watch 5 is said to come with Wear OS 7 and feature a slightly larger battery than its predecessor. Furthermore, a higher recommended retail price is anticipated. According to the leaked information, the smartwatch is set to cost around $50 more than the Pixel Watch 4.
