Android security update for June 2026 released: loads of patches

Google has released a new security patch for Android. The June security update addresses more than 120 vulnerabilities in the operating system. What does the June patch include?

June 2026 security update released

A new security update is released for Android every month. This month is no exception. Google has now released the June patch. As with previously released security patches, the necessary improvements to the Android operating system are being implemented again this month. In total, 124 vulnerabilities are being patched. This includes one critical vulnerability in the Framework component, which is currently being actively exploited. This vulnerability affects devices running Android versions 14, 15 and 16.

The June security update does not only address vulnerabilities in the software. Security improvements have also been made in various other areas, such as the chipsets used and other components of the smartphone. The relevant devices will be updated in the coming days, with manufacturers also implementing their own patches.
