January security update
In the year 2026, Google will also just continue to make a new security update for the Android system available every month. Last year, Google did announce that it was changing its strategy, and that it was no longer publishing all the information, about what fixes the new update brings. As a result, we have to do without that information. Typically, each month involves dozens of improvements to Android's security. Manufacturers usually add their own improvements as well.
Google has released the update and manufacturers can work with it to optimise it for their own device. Currently, the update is not yet available for download for any device, including Pixel phones.
