'Earlier release for Xiaomi 17T series'
Xiaomi is reportedly planning to announce the new Xiaomi 17T series earlier than the previous series. Last September, the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro were released, and we were very pleased with the latter in the Xiaomi 15T Pro review. The smartphone has a nice design, very good camera and good battery life.
Still, the manufacturer itself sees room for improvement. We will start to see that reflected in the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro. Reports have now surfaced about the new smartphones. The 17T series would reportedly be announced earlier than the current models.
The two devices are expected to debut four months earlier. This would mean the devices would be announced as early as May. We suspect this will apply to the Chinese market first, as the 17 series itself will not be announced for Europe until late February. But information on this is still missing.
What we do have information on is the chipset. The Xiaomi 17T is expected to come with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500, while the Pro model will come with the Dimensity 9500 processor. As for the camera, no major changes are expected. However, the Xiaomi 17T's battery would come out at 6500 mAh with 67W fast charging.
For now, we have to make do with the upcoming 17 series for now. Expectations of that are also high. Still, Xiaomi seems to choose not to release the version with the screen on the back in Europe.
