Samsung makes September update available for Galaxy S22 series, Flip and Fold 7

Samsung has prepared the latest security patch for five smartphones. This is the case for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, and the brand's two latest foldables. It has taken a while; normally Samsung is a bit earlier.

September update for S22 and foldables

It has taken a while at Samsung, but a new update is available for several smartphones from the South Korean brand. Normally Samsung is relatively quick with it, but it is possible that the update to Android 16 has taken a little more time at the software team. Although the update will also reach the Galaxy S22 series, it is still some time away. For that reason, Samsung did start rolling out the September security update ahead of time, we hear from Frank. The update is available for the Samsung Galaxy S22, the S22+ and the S22 Ultra.

Not only those three devices will be offered the new update. Samsung has also made the update available for its two most recent foldables. This means that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be updated with the new September update. Since these devices are already running on Android 16, they are completely up to date again with this update.

The September update combines Google's patches with Samsung's own. This means that it is always advisable to get the update in so that your smartphone is completely safe again. If you are able to download the update for your smartphone, you will get a notification of this on your device.
