Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold
Last December, Samsung introduced the new Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold. A foldable phone that goes beyond the likes of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and other foldable devices. Unfortunately for our market, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is not available. However, the South Korean manufacturer did put the device on its stand at Mobile World Congress, allowing us to play with the smartphone extensively. How do you like this new form factor?

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is an unusual phone. Namely, you can fold it not once, but twice. This gives you an even bigger screen when unfolded. On the front, you have a 6.5-inch cover screen. Flip it open and a 10.0-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1584 pixels appears. You can only fold it open one way. If you don't do it the right way, a notification will immediately appear on the part of the screen.

Samsung provides the device with a thin design, with the thickness coming out at 3.9 millimetres, or 4.2 millimetres at the level of the camera module. Because the device can be folded twice, it is a fairly thick device with a thickness of 12.9 millimetres closed. The device feels solid and looks good. Folding the device open, you really have a gigantic screen in front of you, comparable to an average tablet. This makes it a step bigger than the screen of current foldables.

The keyboard that pops out works surprisingly pleasant on the big screen, and the camera app lets you choose different views. For instance, you can set it to immediately show on the side, which photos you took in the session. When it comes to photography, you won't be short of anything, by the way. There is a 200-megapixel main camera, assisted by a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x zoom and a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens. The cover screen then also offers a 10-megapixel selfie camera and unfolded in the screen is also a 10-megapixel lens for taking a successful selfie.

On board the TriFold is another Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, along with a 5600 mAh battery, which you can charge at 45W. All pretty fine specs, but is this the smartphone we are looking forward to? Converted, the price of the new Z model already sits at around 3,000 euros. Are you up for it? We are very curious to hear your opinion, leave a comment below this post.
