Samsung on October security updates
The October security update was officially released by Google this week. What exactly this update addresses, that remains to be seen. This is because Google has opted for a different strategy, no longer sharing all the details. Samsung is extending Google's patches with patches of its own. This means that Galaxy smartphones and tablets will become a bit more secure again. Details of the content of Samsung's own update are now shared by the manufacturer.

Samsung is talking about a total of 14 improvements and patches being added. These are patches characterised as "high urgency", without being critical. We see improvements in fingerprint scanner usage, storing sensitive information on your Galaxy and vulnerabilities in Knox, among others. Furthermore, adjustments have been made for the contacts app, Dex and the Galaxy Watch.
In the coming time, the necessary Samsung devices will be updated with the October security update. If you receive this update on your device, we would love to hear from you. Send us an email, with a screenshot to redactie@droidapp.nl.
