Poco X8 Pro (Max) announced
Poco already came out with the Poco F8 series recently, where we published the extensive Poco F8 Ultra review. Now the brand is coming out with two more new models: the Poco X8 Pro and the Poco X8 Pro Max. Both models are characterised by the presence of a large battery capacity and a Dimensity chipset. But of course, there is more to tell about the two models.
Big screen and powerful hardware
The Poco X8 Pro Max features a 6.83-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1280 x 2772 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The panel supports 12-bit colour, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision and achieves brightness of up to 2,000 nits in normal use and 3,500 nits peak.
Under the bonnet is the Dimensity 9500s chip. According to Poco, this allows you to play heavy games at 120fps. Cooling is provided by a 3D IceLoop system with a 5800 mm vapour chamber. The device is available with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Large battery and additional features
One of the most striking features is the 8,500mAh battery, the largest ever in a Poco phone. It supports 100W fast charging and 27W reverse charging, allowing you to charge other devices as well. With the right adapter, you charge the battery to 50 per cent in about 24 minutes.
The casing is 8.2 mm thick and weighs 218 grams. Depending on the region, the device has IP69K or IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. It also features dynamic RGB lighting with eight colours, which can respond to notifications, music or charging status. For audio, there are dual speakers with Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos.
Poco X8 Pro
The Poco X8 Pro has a smaller 6.59-inch AMOLED display with similar specifications, including 120Hz, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. This model uses an optical fingerprint scanner, while the Max has an ultrasonic variant. The battery is smaller at 6500 mAh, but still hefty. Again, you get 100W fast charging and 27W reverse charging. Charging time for a full charge is around 48 minutes.
The X8 Pro runs on the Dimensity 8500 Ultra chip and also features an advanced cooling system. Like the Max, configurations of up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage are available.

Cameras and connectivity
Both devices feature a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilisation and f/1.5 aperture, complemented by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 20-megapixel selfie camera. Although the sensors differ from model to model, the specifications are largely similar.
In terms of connectivity, both smartphones support Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and Xiaomi Offline Communication. We also saw this with the Xiaomi 15T series, for example.
Availability
The Poco X8 Pro Max starts at a price of 529.90 euros (12GB+256GB). The Poco X8 Pro will cost you 399.90 euros, for which you get the 8GB+256GB variant.
