January update causes problems
Experiencing problems on your Pixel smartphone after installing the January update? That could just be right. The internet is seeing more and more reports of problems cropping up with WiFi and Bluetooth. In several cases, both WiFi and Bluetooth do not work, nor do they want to be switched on. The problem is being made worldly via various avenues on the internet, such as the Google support forum and also on Reddit. In the search for a solution, users encounter the problem that nothing seems to solve it. A reboot does not help, nor does restoring the smartphone to factory settings.
The problem seems to occur on every supporting Pixel model, including the Pixel 8 Pro, the Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro and the Pixel 10 Pro XL. Despite that, not every user seems to be affected, but it is unknown what exactly is causing the problem. Google reveals that it is aware of the problem. A solution is probably being worked on behind the scenes, although it is unclear when a fix will be released.
In doing so, some users report other problems they are running into. For instance, in some cases the camera does not work and the battery drains very quickly in standby mode.
What is certain is that the update has not yet reached all devices. For instance, the Pixel 10 Pro XL at the editorial office still hasn't received the January update yet.
