OnePlus 15 is official
Weeks and months of rumours and reports went by, but now OnePlus has announced its new high-end smartphone for 2026. The brand is presenting the OnePlus 15, providing a successor to the OnePlus 13 released early this year. Since in Asian countries the idea is that the number '4' brings bad luck, so there is no OnePlus 14, just like the OnePlus 4 was skipped. The device has now made its debut in China, and will soon be released in Europe, including the Netherlands. An official date has not yet been shared, but the rumour circuit is citing the date of 13 November. This puts OnePlus well ahead of Samsung, which will announce the Galaxy S26 series next year.

Camera
DroidApp had a chance to shoot with the OnePlus 15 in advance. Photos we took in Prague, we have collected for you in this article. OnePlus is opting for an alternative to Hasselblad with the new device. As such, we no longer see that logo on the camera module. OnePlus wants to offer a better alternative with DetailMax and let users shoot even better pictures. The phone features three 50-megapixel lenses. These include a 3.5x zoom periscope lens, a 50MP wide-angle lens and a 50MP main lens. Interestingly, the sensors are smaller than those of the OnePlus 13, and the smartphone offers a 32-megapixel telephoto lens.
Technical features
On board is the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, along with 12GB of RAM and 256GB. You also have a choice of 12GB+512GB, 16GB+512GB and 16GB+1TB configurations. The colours the device will be released in are Sand Dune, Misty Purple and Absolute Black. The device offers an in-display fingerprint scanner, features an infrared remote control, WiFi 7 and a 6.78-inch OLED display. This display delivers Full-HD+ resolution with a high refresh rate of 165Hz. Remarkable, given that its predecessor offers QHD+ resolution.

Worth mentioning is the gigantic battery capacity in the device. The OnePlus 15 features a 7300 mAh battery. This silicon battery is even bigger than the already hefty 6000 mAh battery in the OnePlus 13. Charging should also be lightning fast, with 120W wired or 50W wireless.
As you can see, the OnePlus 15 also has a different design. For instance, the camera module is no longer round, but sits in a square island. What has also been replaced is the Alert Slider. Instead, you can use the button, and, for example, also use it to put the device on silent, or just attach another action to it. Furthermore, the phone offers IP69 certification.
As mentioned, the new OnePlus 15 will also make its European debut soon. When we have more information on this, we will of course keep you updated.
